Mr. Baker has been in the construction industry for all of his professional career beginning with F. A. Baker & Sons (his father) in 1958.

In 1963, Mr. Baker joined the largest national design/build firm in the country specializing in financial institutions and headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. During his 14 years with this Company, he managed projects throughout the country ranging from small remodels to multistory high rises. In fact, he was manager of all high rise construction during part of this time. Mr. Baker steadily rose in experience and responsibility from project manager to president of the Western Region with total P & L accountability for all departments. All department managers including, sales, estimating, architecture, administration, and construction reported directly to him.

For 6 years Mr. Baker was president of a national firm, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, specializing in architecture, engineering, millwork, interior design, and construction in the financial facility market.
Mr. Baker is currently president and owner of Baker Construction Company, Newark, California. His firm, which he established in 1983, specializes in all facets of construction for financial institutions.
During his thirty plus years of specialization, he has been involved in excess of 500 financial building programs from a field superintendent to the Owner of Baker Construction Company. Mr. Baker's policy is to work very closely with the Owner, Architect, Engineers, Designers, and governing agencies; a policy that has resulted in a thorough knowledge of the requirements needed to make a building functional and cost effective.

Mr. Baker began his construction experience with his father's firm, F. A. Baker & Sons, Oakland, Maine, in the early 1960's. Since then, he has continued to develop professionally in the construction industry with progressively increased levels of responsibility.

In 1981, Mr. Baker joined the largest national design/build firm in the country specializing in financial institutions and headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. During his 10 years with this company, he managed projects throughout the country ranging from small remodels to multi-million dollar facilities. Mr. Baker steadily rose in experience and responsibility from Project Manager to Area Construction Manager of their Southwest and Midwest Regions. He had total performance and training accountability for all project managers reporting to him.

Other experience includes 3 years as a construction management consultant to financial institutions in the Midwest. In this capacity, Mr. Baker was responsible for estimating, securing bids, selecting subcontractors, and overall cost control of projects that ranged up to one million dollars in value. Recently, Mr. Baker was Vice President of Construction for a regional design/build firm. This firm's business concentrates on architecture, design and construction management for banks, S&L's and credit unions in the West.

Mr. Baker is currently Vice President of Construction for Baker Construction Company, Newark, California. Established in 1983 by his brother, Douglas F. Baker, this company specializes in all facets of construction for financial institutions.
